Project Update: Nov. 14 - Nov 14, 2011

During the week of November 4 through November 10, Herlihy installed the bridge railing and continued final cleanup. The grading subcontractor, Bell, added the final embankment to the east side of the trail bridge. The landscape subcontractor, Cooling Land Concepts worked on final landscaping.

Project Update: Nov. 7 - Nov 4, 2011

During the week of October 28 through November 3, Herlihy poured the east and west approach pavements as well as the parapet wall on top off the east approach pavement. The subcontractor continued the final grading. A separate subcontractor started the final landscape seeding.

Project Update: Oct. 31 - Oct 31, 2011

During the week of October 21 through October 27, Herlihy poured the approach pavements and parapets for the bridge over the Fox River Trail. Herlihy continued removing their formwork and cleaning up the jobsite. Finally, there was some grading and spreading of topsoil west of the river.

Project Update: Oct. 24 - Oct 31, 2011

During the week of October 14 through October 20, Herlihy poured the bridge deck for the Red Gate Road structure over the Fox River Trail. They have also excavated and formed the approach pavements east and west of the bridge. There was also some grading, topsoil, and landscaping work done by subcontractors.

Project Update: Oct. 17 - Oct 17, 2011

During the week of October 7 through October 13, Herlihy worked on getting the bridge ready for concrete. All the supporting falsework is installed and all the reinforcing steel is on the deck. The embankment operations continued west of the Fox River. Additionally, some of the final landscape seeding started.

Project Update: Oct. 10 - Oct 6, 2011

During the week of September 30 through October 6, Herlihy continued to work on the bridge over the Fox River Trail. Most of the falsework (that will support the concrete for the bridge deck) is now in place. Herlihy also installed some storm sewer pipe and structures. The embankment and earthmoving operations resumed with the warm, dry weather. Most of the grading, on both sides of the river, is now complete.

Project Update: Oct. 3 - Sep 30, 2011

During the week of September 23 through September 29, Herlihy continued their work on the bridge over the Fox River Trail. Of particular note was the installation of the precast concrete bridge beams for the bridge. These were installed on Tuesday, September 27. Some embankment and earthmoving operations continued until they were halted by the rain events.

Project Update: Sept. 26 - Sep 22, 2011

During the week of September 16 through September 22, Herlihy has been working on the Red Gate bridge over the Fox River Trail. The pile driving was completed and the abutments were poured. Earthmoving and embankment operations continue on both sides of the river. The tree removal for the project is now complete.

Project Update: Sept. 19 - Sep 19, 2011

During the week of September 9 through September 15, a considerable amount of work was performed. The contractor (Herlihy) started and completed their pile driving operation. They also continued with the storm sewer installation on the east side of the Fox River. The earthwork subcontractor (Bell) continued with their earthmoving and embankment operations east and west of the river.

Project Update: Sept. 12 - Sep 8, 2011

During the week of September 2 through September 8, work continued on the embankment operations of the new Red Gate Road, east and west of the Fox River Trail. The grading and shaping of the detention pond west of the trail also continued.
