Week of August 27, 2012

Work on all facets of the project continued rapidly. McHugh started their work on the erection of the pedestrian bridge steel. The retaining wall on the east side of IL 25 is complete. Traffic on IL 31 was moved to the east side of the roadway. Some of the concrete pavement for Red Gate, between IL 31 and the river was also paved.

During next week, McHugh will continue working on the structural steel for the trail bridge. Curb & gutter and asphalt widening will take place on the east side of IL 25. It is also expected that more concrete paving will be performed west of the river.

Work moved forward on the culvert replacement that IDOT added to this project. The detour for IL 25 is still in effect. Opening the roadway during the week of August 27 is still anticipated.
